Why do the rolls come individually wrapped? That's a hygiene thing. The colourful wrapping is made from recycled paper which can be added to the recycling bin or repurposed as wrapping paper.

They started with a crowd funding campaign in Australia back in 2012. Three guys took the initiative when they stumbled across the fact that 2.3 billion people in the world don't have access to a toilet. They decided to help change that, that's why half of their profits are donated.
